OMI (NO) FUJIWARA KANESADA

Kanesada is from Iwashiro and he is called Yoshikawa Magouemon. He received his title during the Genroku era 1688. He is the 5th generation of a long line of excellent Smiths. He is a Smith of the Kanbun period whose ancestors came originally from Mino province. Among his other signatures is the reference to Oshu Aizu Ju Omi Daijo Fujiwara Kanesada Nyudo. This is a Handachi or one handed Katana. The blade was recently restored and has a rare Ura-Mei is signature.
