SWORD # 223 - Hokke - Saburo - Nobufusa

Hokke Saburo Nobufusa
Meiji Period - 1909 - 2000

Nobufusa worked mostly in the Bizen tradition. His home Province was in Miyagi Province and his family were retainers of the Mutsu Sendai clan. He was born in the Meiji period 1909, May 15th. His family name was Takahashi Noburu.

He received the presitigious designation of (National Treasure) Juyo Bunkazai of Miyagi prefect. Important intangible cultural heritage in November of 1967. He died at age 91 in 2000.

Nobufusa made many swords during the war effort, most unsigned. He won many prizes after the war for the excellence of his swords you will find.
