The Japanese
Sword Society of Canada (JSSC) is a non-profit organization with its
head office located in Barrie, Ontario, Canada, just north of
Toronto, Ontario. It was founded in 1965 by its president,
Fred Fimio, it was incorporated in 1976.
The society, with close connections with
both the NBTHK and the NTHK of Japan, is dedicated to the
preservation and edification of the Japanese sword as a work of
art.
Our main endeavor is toward the education
of its members and the general public through correspondence
courses, planned seminars, shows and exhibitions. The
JSSC also provides information regarding instructive books on
swords, shows, and show dates of other sword societies.
In previous years we have hosted 3 very
successful International shows. People came from all over the
world, i.e. China, Australia, South America. We hope to
continue this trend with the assistance of member volunteers.
