#245-04 - Yamato Mino - Shinzu Kaneuji

This Katana is the work of the second generation Yamato/Shizu Kaneuji whose father Saburo Kane Uji of the Yamato Tegai school moved from Nara in Yamato province to Mino province in or around 1300 AD in the late Kamakura period to establish the Mino school. The workmanship leans toward the Yamato style having a more Soshu influence rather than Mino Jigane of Masamei grain and Hakikake Boshi. It displays a large Kissaki indicative of the Nambokochu period. It also has Bo-Hi and Soehi both sides. The Hamon is Ko-Nie Deki, Ko-Choji Midare mixed in with Ko-Gunome Midare and displays ample Ashi, Sunagashi, Chikei and Kinsuji.
